Agata & Valentina was born in 1993 from a simple belief: that food should be more than sustenance — it should carry intention, craft and a story. From our doors on the Upper East Side, we set out to bring New York the kind of Italian and Mediterranean food you’d find in a family kitchen in Sicily.
We work directly with artisanal producers in Italy to source the best, most unique specialty products — from San Marzano tomatoes and extra-virgin olive oils to fresh pasta made daily in our own kitchen. Each of our markets carries over 7,000 items, every one curated by people who taste before it earns its place.
Our prepared foods, breads and pastries are made on premises each morning, and our produce is selected by hand. And we believe good food should be shared — Agata & Valentina donates an average of 14,000 lbs of food to City Harvest every year, helping feed New Yorkers in need.

Our shelves are shaped by a circle of buyers and chefs who treat food as a living craft. Their palates carry traditions passed down through generations — and a restless eye for the exceptional. The result is a market that feels both timeless and entirely of today.
